Practice in Southwest Nova Scotia
Why Practice Here?
All Roads Start in the Yarmouth Region of Southwest Nova Scotia. It’s the community that encourages its high school students to pursue health care as a profession, where medical students gain unique, practical, hands-on experience while on rotation, and where medical residents launch their careers and first encounter the challenges and rewards that make rural medicine a calling.
It’s the perfect place to settle down, start a family, and grow roots. It’s a launching pad for a medical career or even a lifestyle-centered medical practice. It’s an opportunity to become a leader within the medical community by being a preceptor or researcher and contributing to the development of medicine.
It’s a haven to reboot a highly competitive focus and engage a fresh approach to work/life balance – or better yet – a life/work balance. It’s where a mid-career shift is actually exactly what you need or it could even be the spot to get your bearings and orchestrate your transition from work life to retirement, while staying connected to your colleagues and unwinding at the same time. Southwest Nova is where great things start!

Yarmouth, N.S. hoping to ‘level the playing field’ as it tries to attract doctors
